Presidential contenders 33/1 to tie US election
October 3rd, 2008 by Matt BennettBOOKIE William Hill is betting on there being an outright result in the 2008 US election and is offering 33/1 that the American presidential election ends in a tie.
Spokesman Graham Sharpe said, “It is perfectly possible for the US election to end in a tie with each candidate gaining 269 Electoral College votes.”
In the last week Democrat Barack Obama has become even hotter favourite for the presidency with Hills shortening his odds from 4/7 to 1/3 while Republican John McCain has drifted from 5/4 to 9/4.
“Punters believe that Obama has emerged from the financial crisis in a stronger position than before”, said Sharpe.
